A Podcast about life at sea
Embark on a virtual journey around the world with Expedition Memories podcast, capturing unforgettable memories from expedition ship adventures.
As an expedition naturalist I spend around 180 days a year onboard expedition ships. With a background in biology and a history as a marine educator, my career has been dedicated to environmental education for ocean conservation. I am driven by the understanding of our oceans to share fascinating stories, so that together we can protect the seas, from anywhere in the world.
With over 10 years of experience on expedition traveling, my journeys have taken me across all our oceans and to many remote places of the globe. Along the way, I’ve captured countless images, videos, and sounds, which I’m excited to dig in and start sharing. Being dyslexic, writing about it was completely out of option, so this podcast was born from the attempt to process and share many stories and sometimes odd moments of a life at sea.
Most of my work has been focused on Polar regions and therefore we will start this podcast exploring the wonders of Antarctica and sharing some special, incredible and unique experiences from the Southern Ocean. Including: How do you get there? How do you survive the Drake passage? or How is it like to be surrounded by thousands of penguins...
The Expedition Memories webpage is the starting point for sharing some adventures and reflections onboard. Join me embarking on this journey, bringing the wonders of the ocean and the thrill of exploration to you.
Lets travel together,
Madalena
